John and I have not explored the Miami area as much as we should have and usually take the opportunity to try new things when we have company in town which sometimes is a fun experience and sometimes we tank miserably. So ever since we moved here everyone has said that we have to go to Joe's Stone Crab (not to be confused with Joe's Crab shack). It's a crab restaurant down on South Beach that's only open a couple months out of the year and is known to have celebrity sightings. It was kind of strange because its a pretty casual restaurant but all the waiters were in tuxedos and they have valet. The crab was decent but not nearly worth the hefty price tag that came along with it. I will say their Key Lime Pie was pretty dang good. They serve their crab cold which was a turn off for me. I like my crab hot, steamed, and drowned in butter! We all decided we would rather have Red Lobster or Outback's crab. So thanks Craig and Sheri for joining us for our first and last time at Joe's Stone Crab. To all the people that told us to go there shame on you for thinking a high price tag equals good food!
Like father, like son...
Our next adventure was a cruise down Millionaire's Row in to see all the famous houses and yachts. I think somehow we were on the Senior Cruise because we were the only ones under the age of eighty! Austin loved riding on the boat but had his hands on his ears half the time because the horn kept sounding. What a beautiful day! People put up with humidity and heat for the majority of the year to be rewarded with days like these!

I'm not a big fan of seafood in general, but that stinks when you pay a lot of money for crappy food.
Yes,I did the header on my blog in photoshop, I still need practice though!!
Christy,
I was informed that fine dining restaurants serve fish cold so you can taste the quality of the meat. The average restaurant will serve it hot and drowned in butter to hide the imperfections. Personally, I prefer it hot and in butter also. My favorite place was that casino where you paid 10 bucks for all you can eat crab legs!!!! Now, thats what I am talking about!- Sue
I hate seafood all together! Looks like you had a fun day at Millinaire's row. Love all the cute pictures of your family.
you all look so cute in your crab bibs! seems like craig and sheri must have had a great time down there with you guys and hanging out with the boys!
Did you have any celebrity sightings? I love crab, but I have never tried it cold. It doesn't sound very good.
Hey Christy, no I'm not doing the Turkey trot. I really wanted to, but I pulled a muscle behind my knee & then I started a crazy schedule with clinicals and just couldn't keep it up. I fully intend on running again as soon as my semester ends though. Are you doing it? How long is your turkey trot?
How fun. I'm so jealous of the palm trees, and beautiful weather right now! Okay, so one of my best friends brothers used to play for the hurricanes. We went on a trip to Miami when we were in 8th grade, and we ate at joe's stone crabs...don't remember much about the food, but we saw Evana Trumph, how funny! I do remember thinking "we wear bibs in a place like this?" I am from Colorado. Parker, it's south of Denver...pretty much Littleton. John's from there too, what part though? Do you guys get out there much? Anyways, have a very Happy Thanksgiving!
You guys are too cute! You look like you have the best time out there! Are you coming back here for the holidays? We miss you guys! Also, did you here the Tricia Thomas is in my ward here in Denver...too funny how we made the connection with you guys! A-
What fun! We are going to have to take that cruise some time. Those two pictures, one of Austin and then John are too cute!
Hey again! I like to download free paper off of websites, the best one is shabbyprincess.com. There are others out there, but I havn't liked them very much, and you can always buy some, they are pretty cheap like 2-3 bucks for a pack of 6-8 different patterns.
Mhmmm, that sounds good. The only places we hit in miami when we were there was The Samba Room and the China Grill. Both were yummy. Oh, and I need your address so email me (iscaryn@cox.net) one of the photos on the card is from the dolphins at the Seaquarium!
I always wanted to eat there! The food network did a thing on that place so it's funny to hear it was not too good!! Millionaire row... Don't you guys have a bunch of friends that live there??? I heard Heidi and Ryan were buying a place!:)
Dang, You guys should have come to Orlando to the Salt Island with us - I've never had such great seafood. We had a blast with you guys. The show is in Orlando next year too so maybe we'll pay ya another visit!
