I made it! Thanks to everyone for all of the advice for the trip. Unfortunately I didn't read most of it until the trip was over. I was a sweaty mess after getting the kids through security and finally sat in our seats on the airplane and pulled out the DVD player and although it was fully charged it wouldn't play any DVDs. The kids were flipping out already and I had a 5 1/2 hour flight ahead of me. I had a freak out moment and sent John a text that said, "I'm in hell!"
It seems like every year we are at Lake Powell for Father's Day. The kids gave John his traditional gift of peanut M&Ms and Mountain Dew. When you get married you don't know what kind of parent your spouse will be and I have definitely been lucky to have a husband who is an example to me of how to be a great parent.
Our other friends were down the same week and parked their houseboat two coves over so we were able to get together with them a couple of times. On Father's Day we took this classic picture of the dad's and all their kids. John has been friends with these guys since he was a kid and it's funny to see how many boys they all had. As John and Bryan would say, "The man gene is strong with us."
Garet with sons Mason and Easton; Bryan with Everett and Reis; John with Austin and Brock; Cade with Cooper, Carter, and Reagan.
I have a ton of pics from Powell but I'll have to post them later.

Traveling by yourself with the kids is always an adventure! I can totally relate! But it looks like you had fun once you got there!
Such a cute family! Glad Janece is a part of it!
I have never been to Powell. Maybe someday. Looks like you had fun.
The picture of Garet, Brian, John, and Cade with all the kids is SO FUNNY. As a sister I would say it is my worst nightmare that they would multiply like that (but then the kiddies are so adorable).
Looks like a fun day. I LOVE Lake Powell. TOTALLY understand the plane bit I just did that in April. Can't wait for pics of the rest of your trip.
You guys always seem to have so much fun! I love that I still get to keep in touch with you via blog. Hope you guys had so much fun at Lake Powell!
I am leaving for SL on Monday with all 3 kids and I am banking on the DVD player! Oh man, that battery better work! Glad you were able to survive, it gives me hope! :)
