While we were eating dinner...

We looked out our window...

and saw a huge alligator in the water in our backyard..
We watched him stalk something...

Turned out to be a fish...

He threw the fish on our neighbor's shore...

...gobbled him up.
Better the fish than my kids.
Thank goodness for gates.

I don't know what scares me more: the alligator or the fish! HOLY HELL, that thing is HUGE! You should thankful the alligator took care of it. That thing could probably take off with one of your kids too!

My boys were so excited to see an alligator at the refuge in our city...I wonder what they would think about one in the backyard. That is crazy. Great pictures!

Yikes! I think gates aren't even an option in my mind at this point! If I didn't have one, I'd be on the phone today to get one put in! :)

And how did you get such great pictures??? Maybe I just have a really lame-o camera...

This totally freaked me out because Scott and I were watching Planet Earth last night and it was all about alligators and crocodiles...what's the difference between the two? Anyway, it showed slow motion of crocs ripping apart wildebeasts and birds...all babies of course. Gross!

WOW!! I would be terrified to have the kids outside but it would be cool to watch through the window.

Oh my goodness! Those pictures are crazy!!!
We have been in Florida several and witnessed those beast for our selves.
I can't believe those pictures...that is way to close to home! Glad you and your kids are all safe!
I still remember hearing the story on the news about the alligator that came in someones' kitchen through the doggie door! I hope you don't have a doggie door!

Kristy,
This has nothing to do with this post. But I keep thinking about your injection post and those ouchy looking bruises. My nurse friend told me that you can avoid them by pinching the skin while you inject. It helped me hope it'll help you to!

Oh my gosh!!! That is crazy. I was wondering if you ever saw gators living on the water. We love looking for alligators anytime we are in FL, especially since there is water on the side of every road & pretty much everywhere you look. Great pictures Christy!
