Right after we returned from Arizona we headed to Marco Island for the NFLPA event. John is the rep for the Dolphins so he has to attend and it's a really family orientated week of fun. Last year the lockout was going on and it was pretty tense but this year was a lot more relaxed. They had camp for the kids during the morning while the wives had meetings and activities. We went to the pool everyday and played hard until the sun set.
Noodle races every afternoon.
One of the events for the wives was at Roy's for cooking classes and behind the scenes activities. We rotated stations making sushi, spring rolls, and shrimp. They also had a Hawaiian dancing class. Our favorite restaurant is Roy's so I was in heaven.
Later that night we were planning on going to Roy's anyway we went back with John and the kids. The waiters remembered me from the morning and kept stopping by to talk and kept sending out food for us to try. Not going to lie, we loved the special treatment!
The hotel is right on the beach so we played hard there too.
There is a NFL alumni conference the week after the NFLPA's meetings so for a day or two the crowds overlapped. The hot tub looked like a kid stew with all of the player's kids.
The boys were wiped out every night. The first night it was hard to all sleep together but thanks to an ambient noise app we figured it out.
They always throw a beach party the last night. I didn't get many pictures but here's Brock sword fighting. And they had all you can eat lobster. Yum.
