Boo-ed!

Last night as we were putting the kids to bed we heard a loud banging on our door and had found out we were boo-ed by someone in the ward. For those of you who don't know what that is, it is when someone leaves treats on your door and then you have to leave Halloween treats on 2 other friend's doors. You then post a ghost on your door that says you've been hit so there are no repeats. Well today I watched Heidi's daughter Ashlyn for a little while and was feeling very accomplished when I got Austin, Brock, and Ashlyn all down for naps at the same time. So while they were sleeping, John and I decided to decorate yummy kid-germ-free cupcakes for our boo treat!

When Austin woke up we let him decorate his own cupcake which turned into a lick the frosting off the cupcake and frost it all over again event.

The Clarks came over to pick up Ashlyn and hung out for a while. Then we all decided to go to our favorite place for dinner, Outback. Thank you so much for dinner. It was so much fun...until as we were leaving Austin had an "accident", more like Hershey squirts all over himself and John's arm. No, I'm not sick enough to take a picture of that. In my haste to leave, I threw our togo container of Austin's mac'n'cheese on Brock's lap and we hurried to the car. Halfway home, I heard a crinkly sound from Brock's seat and I didn't even have to look I knew what it was. Noooo! Sure enough he has having a party with the food. The kid loves to eat paper or any relative of paper. He's obsessed!
Finally, we got home, gave the kids baths, and headed out to deliver our treats. I took Austin to the first house. I told him we had to be quiet, knock, and then run as fast as we could to the car. I think I scared him...he had really big eyes and was acting like we were doing something very naughty! Next, we went to the Clark's house because I'm sure they didn't get enough of us today. We knocked and ran about 4 times and finally gave up. I called her on the way home to make sure that she got the treats and not a cat! What do you know...she didn't answer because she was blogging. Are we addicted or what?

ps that's so smart to have some grown-up frosting time. Otherwise it's hard enough to eat the kid decorated treats, let making the neighbors eat them. =)

SO cute! Last year we gotbooed by 3 different ghosts-- so this year I am a step a head, I already hung mine out! It is fun to see how fast it can go through a neighborhood or ward!

We were booed last year. It was a lot of fun. I'm pretty sure you are not suppose to tell the people you booed though.

I can just see Austin's eyes right now when you told him! That is so funny. Those are all great pictures, I can't believe Brock got into the mac n cheese. What a night you guys had! And you still went out at booed! You are amazing. Thanks again for the cupcakes, they were so yummy! But now I have to do it, great!

how funny is it that brock got to the leftovers! if he's anything like kate mac and cheese is a favorite.

family frosting night is always a good time! how cute is austin licking the frosting! we made a huge bowl of whipped cream to go with the apple pie (I did make that...they have the best apples out here!) but kyle kept eating heaving spoonfulls of cream. she even tried to pile it on her plate - like it was a meal or something! kids are so funny!
