Mom and Dad's 50th Anniversary Excursion to Nauvoo
We couldn't have picked a better place to celebrate my Mom and Dad's 50th wedding anniversary. Not only did we get to spend a lot of time together but we got to see lots of church historical sites. You couldn't deny the feeling at Carthage Jail and Joseph Smith's grave. It was awesome to be able to attend a session at the Nauvoo temple together as a family.
Unfortunately my sister Sandra and my brother Keith both had major things come up the day they were supposed to leave and couldn't come. It's never the same without everyone there...but with a group this big, the party must go on. Every night we had a program in which we presented the video Kyle did, the blog, and memories we had of our parents. We left them sentimental gifts on their pillow every night. We had a blast...lots of See's chocolate, Bunco, Boggle, Yahtzee, the Hotel Nauvoo buffet and morning runs down to the Mississippi. We all stayed up until 2 AM every night talking and telling stories. I didn't get more than 5 hours sleep every night cause Brock wanted to party at 7 AM. I now need a vacation from my vacation. Despite the fact that I lost my ID on the plane and ripped my contact and had to walk around half blind, it was a great trip!

That is such a great idea to plan a family trip to celebrate your parents 50th. I love it that you have such a big family, so much fun! By the way your boys are sooo cute! And to answer you on where we are living, we live about 30-40 miles north of L.A. We have been here for about 5 months and love it. There is so much to do here and we have made great friends, but we definitely miss our families. Once again, awesome idea for your parents, I'm sure they loved it.
That is so cool you all got together! How fun! Poor thing that you never got much sleep with the baby and all the partying. How neat to be able to visit all those church sites. I'm sure it was an amazing time.
I am glad you had such a great time, and you look so great in all of the pictures as I was telling you! It is such fun to get together as a family and it is so neat that you will always have that great memory. I just realized that I say great a lot, even on my own blog. I will have to try a new word!
I love Nauvoo!!! It is such a great place to go as a family!! There is just such a special spirit in that city. We miss you guys so much!! Let us know when your here visiting!!
That looks like a fun trip. We were actually suppose to go up to Nauvoo this weekend as well, but things got crazy and we couldn't make it. I can't wait to make the trip!
That sounds like so much fun! What a cute family you have Christy! Lance and I were just saying we need to go on a church history trip, I'm so glad you had fun! Your parents are great, and what an accomplishment 50 years is, it's sad but almost unheard of these days. Your kids are so cute, and you look fantastic by the way...I need your secret! I know what you mean about the vacation from the vacation, it's funny how that works!
What a fun trip! Your family sounds like they are a blast to hang out with. Cute pictures - you look gorgeous! Bummer about the sleep and your contact. I have had that happen, it stinks to keep squinting your bad eye so everything isn't blurry. Luckily I'll never have to worry about it again since I got Lasik! Glad you had a great trip, hope you can relax and recover now!
It sounds like you had so much fun! I'm sure your parents loved all the gifts, and fun memories.
Yes the Twilight books are that good! I didn't like the thing about vampires either, but it's not what you think! Glad you had fun!
