The Dolphins/Giants game in London

I can't even begin to tell you how much fun we had! Or should I say I had...John only had a little time between practices to do anything. I was just excited to get a glimpse of the VIP treatment the players get. It started off with the flight over. 8 hours, uggghh! The plane we flew on was 2 stories and since it was a chartered flight you were free to roam the airplane, help yourself to anything in the stocked kitchen and even stop by the cockpit to talk to the pilot. They start the flight off by giving everyone a personal dose of Ambien. I am pretty sure all I got was a sugar pill because I didn't feel a thing! We arrived in London at 6:00 am and were greeted by the press. The boys did a couple interviews and were off to practice while the girls jumped on a double decker bus and headed to see some sights. My only complaint about London is that anything worth seeing you aren't allowed to take pictures of such as Kensington Palace, the Crown Jewels, and Westminster Abbey. Oh, I lied. My other complaint is that the food is terrible! Bangers and mash...disgusting.

Feel free to skip this part if aren't interested in my travel log but this is for journaling purposes!
The first night the Dolphins had a party at the Tower of London. For some reason my outlet adapter wouldn't work and the American outlet blew up so I had John iron my hair with a real iron! They had appetizers and and the main meal in one tower, dessert in the White tower, and a private viewing of the Crown Jewels. I saw a 530 carat diamond! Maybe for our 10th anniversary John! I loved that night! Walking around in the brisk cold seeing the amazing sites. The next day the boys had practice again so the girls went on a tour to Winston Churchill's war cabinet rooms and Westminster Abbey. Westminster Abbey is gorgeous and there are so many amazing people buried there. There is a quiet reverence there. It seems like every building in London has a story. The boys met up with us at the London Eye where we got stuck at the top because someone got sick in one of the other capsules. We were then supposed to go with the other wives to Harrods for tea, but since we don't drink tea and our husbands were the only ones that met us at the London Eye we skipped the tea and just went to Harrods to shop. That place is a madhouse!

Of course the only rainy day was the day of the game. Luckily the stadium was partially covered so it wasn't too bad. We had more loyal fans over there than in our own stadium. The highlight of the game was a guy dressed in a referee outfit who went in the middle of the field, ripped off his clothes, and started doing push ups NAKED! Another loss left the boys pretty down so we went out on the town after the game to cheer them up. After eating at a few restaurants John was still starving so we headed to McDonalds to finally fill him up. We got home late and as we were getting ready to go to bed at 3:00 AM the fire alarm went off and we had to evacuate the hotel due to a small fire on the floor above us. I wish I had my camera to take pictures of everyone in their robes and all the players with their ugly London girls which I'm sure they were trying to keep hidden from sight. As John puts it, "all the London uglies got smoked out". The flight home was long but somehow it was enjoyable to just spend kid-less time with John playing games, talking, eating, and watching movies. Thank you again Sheri for taking care of my babies!

How fun! It looks like you guys had a great time. A 2 story plane huh, I didn't know there was such a thing. The only planes that I've flown on into Arkansas are itsy bitsy small ones where you have to fight for any room you want. But then again, that is Arkansas. :) Thanks for sharing your pictures and stories. I love 'em!

What an awesome experience! Even if the food and no pics allowed did stink! When else would you have been able to do that!? A 2 story plane!? Now that would be interesting. I think I would be a little scared.

Ok, Christy,
Your blog makes ours look sooooo lame! I was checking your blog out to get ideas of what to do when you posted on ours! I've become obsessed with this blogging thing...I've been trying to figure out how the heck to add music to ours for like 1 1/2 hours! Anyway, the Halloween pics of Austin and Brock made Scott and I laugh so hard. I can't believe how fast Brock has grown. It looks like you had a blast in London, too, I won't lie, Scott and I are way jealous. Our idea of a "big getaway" these days is a trip through the Sonic drive through. Yeah, its romantic.

You guys are so fun! Having Matt work for KB here in Phoenix is almost as exciting as John playing for the Dolphins! It wouldn't let me leave a comment where I wanted to, but that ice cream made me want to go to Leatherbys! My favorite place in Utah for a treat!
