Oh Christmas tree, oh Christmas tree...

Austin and I being "Naughty" Grandma and Austin
Grandpa and Brock
Who said men can't multitask?
John listening to the BYU game, playing on the computer, and filming us.

Austin could barely keep his eyes open.

By the time Christmas rolls around, I am usually a little burnt out with all the festivities and so to prevent that I don't like to start anything Christmas until December 1st (with the exception of my blog). So today I was anxious to pull out the Christmas decorations and I ran out to the store to buy eggnog and peppermint ice cream. My mom bought me some "Naughty" pajamas which is so unlike my innocent mother and sooo hilarious. Austin liked following me around pointing out the letters on my bum to show us how smart he is. I have a fake tree...I know...ludicrous to most people. Growing up in Arizona real trees were such a fire hazard that fake trees are all I know. Austin was so excited to help set up the tree that we let his bedtime curfew slip. John's back was bothering him so the tree duties were up to me. To assemble the tree you have to put branch by branch in and it takes FOREVER! Not to mention that I started stringing up the lights to find out that I had strung up the tree with a string of lights that had no match. So by 11:00 PM (yes, I said 11) I have a leaning tree with lights halfway up it and no decorations. We promised Austin we would finish it tomorrow which of course means he is going to think about it all night and wake us up at 6:00 AM to finish it. You can't really blame him for being so excited!

Super cute pj's. We have a really old fake tree and we have to put it up one branch at a time. And then do the lights. I think I'm going to get a prelit tree that comes in 3 sections next year. It sounds so much easier.

I love that picture of you and Austin, it is so cute! How fun, even if you do have to do it one branch at a time. That is so funny, I got egg nog and peppermint ice cream as well. Great minds think alike...

Don't change your title! I really don't have dibs on that one. It is totally universal!

Christy,
I should get you a new tree. The three piece tree is the way to go. Its literally up in seconds. I just finished my decorating and I have 2 full size trees up. Christmas decorating is over rated. I am so done with it! What happened to the days of paper chains and srings of popcorn? So much pressure to make your home look like a professional decorated Macys.
Oh, nice pjs! Did mom buy them for you?- Sue

So we've always done real trees, but I definitely(Oh my gosh, now you've got me worried about my spelling. I had to go back to your post to check myself! hahahaha) see the pros of a fake.

Hey Christy-

Looks like a fun night. Don't worry there was no pressure about the tagged. My camera is broken so it was a good time to do it and update my blog. Thanks! Hope all is well.
