A visit from Grandpa, Grandma, and the Christmas Elf

My mom and dad were in town this week and we had a lot of fun going to the beach, Jaxsons, and the Dolphins game. One of our family Christmas traditions growing up was having the "Christmas Elf" visit our house. You know you've had a visit from the Christmas Elf when you hear bells ringing and find a surprise on your doorstep. Austin had his first visit from the Christmas Elf and was more interested in the sucker he left than the spiritual Christmas book (sorry mom). For some reason my parents always seem to attend the rowdiest Dolphin's game of the year. The Jets fans were crazy and fights were breaking out left and right. Mom and dad we had a great time with you!
Also...thanks Mom and Dad for watching the kids so we could go out for rookie night. Rookies are basically slaves to all the veterans their first year. They pay their dues by doing small tasks ranging from getting the veterans breakfast to getting them a towel after practice. John had his fair share of chores to do his rookie year. Along with these tasks all the rookies take their turn taking out the veterans to a really expensive dinner. So last week the rookie punter, Brandon Fields, took all the special teams guys and their wives to Jackson's steakhouse. Unfortunately the only picture I took that night was of the "wedge" salad because it was so ridiculous. Now I've had a wedge salad before...it's usually a wedge of lettuce with yummy stuff on top. This overly expensive salad consisted of only a tiny wedge of lettuce. I'm just glad we weren't paying!

How fun to have your mom and dad come to visit! I also wanted to make a deal with Brock: If he will convince Tate to sit up, Tate will teach him how to get a move on...I am sure you have nothing to worry about...Tate refuses to sit up but is determined to crawl...He's got it a little backwards...

What a cool tradition the elf is! What a cute idea! I hate going to those types of places to eat where you get a spoon full of something for way too much money! I like to eat man! PS will you send me your address? rebeck828@yahoo.com

I love to hear other families fun Christmas tradtions! We need to make our own traditions this year with just our little family of four. This is our first year EVER on our own for the holidays and I want to make it fun. I think we'll be using your Christmas Elf at our home! We hope you guys have Merry Christmas!
