Build A Bear

Thanks to everyone who came to lunch. It was great to catch up. We missed those who couldn't make it. Next time, for sure.

While in Arizona we headed over to Build A Bear for Austin's first experience. Austin wasn't really into it. We practically had to force him to pick out a $20 bear complete with $20 in accessories. He got a little more into it when grandma bought him a $12 stroller to tote his bear around in. I am convinced that the Build a Bear people and Thomas the Train people are in a conspiracy to suck the money out of all us parents. Who pays this much for toys? Oh, right. I do. Joke's on me. They're laughing all the way to the bank. It might be worth it if your kids thoroughly enjoy it. Austin was just not into it. Austin named his bear "TWO". Don't ask. I have no idea.
My niece, Jewels!

This picture makes me laugh because the "Fluff Me" sign looks like a thought bubble above John's head. Although John often comes off as having a tough exterior, he is really just a big teddy bear. John wanted to add that what he was really thinking here is, "I can't believe they can charge this much for a bear."

that is outrageous. Dan will never go for it no matter how much money we have. Thomas is awful too. My mom was the head photographer for the days out with Thomas and we would go all over the country with him for a day out with thomas and it was so expensive for everything...including the pictures..lol it is a rip-off. but the kids faces make it worth it.

Love the "fluff me" thought of John's. :) I've never been in one of those stores. I think Mitchell wouldn't be into it too much. I've known people to have bday parties at Build-a-bear and they even pay for all the friends to do a bear! Yikes! Outrageous! It looks like fun though.

We just had our first build-a-bear experience for Bailey's birthday. We walked out $50 later and went and returned one of her presents she hadn't opened (she didn't know about it). It's hard because it's really not fun unless you go all out, but going all out really means emptying your wallet! I must say, she loves that thing and has played with it constantly for the 3 months we've had it.

Your niece is so cute! I showed McKenna these pictures this morning and she was like, I want to go there! It is crazy expensive though. The things we do for our kids!

I think build a bear is so fun, but yet hate it because you can't get out of there under 40-50 bucks!

Thanks, I'm far from Martha Stewart!
I wish I could have been at lunch but we sold our van that day...glad you had fun!

Cute pictures at build a bear. It sounds fun to me but the boys always have other ideas to spend their birthday money. I'm glad you got to go home. Hope you had a great trip. Did John and you go to the Superbowl? I forgot how big John is.....he looks huge next to Austin.
