Brett and Kristy's wedding

So the reason I haven't posted in so long is that we just got back from Colorado where John's brother Brett married Kristy Mortensen. There are now 2 Christy Denneys. I couldn't be happier to share the name with her! You could tell how much they loved each other. It was a very emotional week. I love seeing someone make Brett so happy. Congrats!

The temple the night before the wedding.

One of the benefits to nose surgery is that I lost enough weight to hit Part 2 of the bet I had with John that caused him to shave his face. Yes, even though it was forced starvation since I couldn't eat anything I hit my goal and will be getting Lasik! My glory was short lived since not only could I really eat anything but I couldn't drink anything so I was like a wrung out sponge and as soon as I started eating and drinking I gained some back. It didn't help that Brett and Kristy's wedding cake was hands down the best cake I have ever had! Ryan and I had an unofficial cake eating contest. I'm pretty sure I won since I finished off more than I want to admit that night and had cake everyday after at my in-law's house since they took home the extra. I'm feeling like a marshmallow Peep!

The Denver temple!

The cousins: Kyle, Kate, Brock, Austin, and Tyler

This picture pretty much sums up Austin's night. I thought letting him sleep until right before pictures would make him well rested. Unfortunately he woke up possessed and wanted nothing to do with the purple shirt that he was supposed to wear. The shirt could have been encrusted in M&Ms, the kid was just in one of those moods. In this picture I'm trying to stop sweating from attempting to dress Austin and John's refraining from beating him. He ended up putting on the purple shirt later in the night. A little late buddy.

The next day we headed down to Kristy's hometown, Alamosa. The reception there had lots of charm complete with an Italian soda bar and candy station.

Brock and Kate: little posers

Before we left Alamosa we we hit up Efrem's for a yummy breakfast skillet and hot chocolate. Alamosa is freezing! We had fun but I am happy to be back in my flip flops.

I'm jealous! I want to go to CO. I love the Denver Temple. Bryon & I were married there. I just bought a picture of the Denver Temple yesterday at Cost Co. Looks like you had a fun time. I wish I could get my hubby to shave his face!

Christy,
First of all, you're way too good at this blogging stuff. Second, thank you so much for making the trip out for the wedding, and especially for driving the extra four hours to Alamosa, that meant so much to me!!! My family loved you guys:) Unfortunately, I didn't have anyone take pics with my own camera, so I don't have any to update my own blog!!! Hopefully I'll get some soon though. And don't worry, I think I gained a good ten pounds from all the delish wedding food, and now I feel like a marshmallow peep!!!

How fun! I am sad you were only like a block away from me! The temple is pretty much our next door neighbor! I am sure you were very busy, but next time you MUST give me a call when you are here! Those are some dang cute pictures!

It looks like you guys had a lot of fun. I love reading your blog. My Cole is never happy at receptions. Wes and I decided the next time we go to a family reception he isn't invited. Is that bad? Your family is so cute. MISS YA

Hooray and congrats for making your goal/part 2. Regardless of how it was achieved, that's awesome! And I bet kissing a smooth face is worth not eating, j/k. So very cool that you are getting Lasik. I got it a few years ago and it is one of the best things I have ever done. I love it especially with kids - I no longer have to fumble for my glasses in the middle on the night. looks like you had a fun trip! Glad you are back to posting.
