We were supposed to go to San Diego this weekend but last second John found out his optional workouts for the week were more mandatory than optional so we had to stay here. I was itching to do something fun so we headed to the beach our sure bet for a good time. We thought about heading to South Beach to see the craziness of the Spring Breakers but with an hour long drive with traffic and battling for a parking space my kid's happy time was sure to be over by the time we got there. We settled for the people watching at Dania Beach. It was a beautiful day! One of those days that make me happy to be living in Florida and make me forget the hot August days where your clothes are soaked from the humidity. John and Austin decided to dig a huge hole much to the disgust of the two old ladies right next to us. There's something so therapeutic about digging a hole in the sand. I got a little relaxing dig in and then opted to let the big guy finish the job. The whole time John was digging I was thinking of the movie Holes. John didn't take it quite that far. He started sweating and cramping up and we ended up with an Austin-sized hole. Austin later invited some girls into his hole. If this is a sign of things to come, I'm in trouble.
If I ever start looking like this please tell my "tanorexic" booty to get out of the sun! Austin looks albino next to him.
Brock enjoying a "sand-wich"!
One of the perks of the house we bought is the fabulous hottub they left in our backyard that we can use once a year when we get that 65 degree cold front. All sarcasm aside, the hot tub has actually turned out to be one of the joys of our new move.We initiated the hot tub one night after dinner. The pH levels were a little iffy so we all wore our junkie swimsuits just in cause the acid ate holes through them. John has been working all week cleaning, draining, adjusting the pH levels, draining again...okay I have no idea what exactly he's doing out there but John said it was good to go. So today we set the temperature to lukewarm, turned on some music, and partied in the hot tub!

You are so lucky to live near a beach. I'm hoping to go to San Diego this summer.
It looks so beautiful there! Maybe the Benches will have to make a trip to the Florida beach.
WOW that that is a huge hole you guys dug. It makes me want to go to the beach and dig even deeper. You guys look like you enjoy yourselves there.
How fun! Looks like you are set with your hot tub....just keep it covered to avoid the alligators or was it crocodiles?
You really are lucky to be so close to the beach. Although I don't know about the sticky clothes in August. I'm sticky in AZ! How fun to have a hot tub. My hubby wants one so bad.
YAY for hot tubs!! We go all of the time and love it! It really wears the kids out, so by the time we are done it is ni-night time for the kiddos.
I would definitely call spending the day at the beach and digging a hole as a therapy session. Maybe I ought to convince Adam that I need therapy and that the beach is the only answer...hmmm...it could work! :)
Fun! What that would be like to have sunshine and warm weather...don't know that concept yet!! Looks like a lot of fun at the beach. I love the pictures of Brock eating the sand.
I want to come and play too. We need to plan something soon.
The zoo we went to was not the phoenix zoo it was the glendale zoo. It's pretty new I guess, we didn't want to deal with the traffic going to the phoenix zoo.
It was fun.
Christy - I'm so jealous that you got to enjoy the beach. It is Spring Break here and it is snowing! Yea, crazy. It doesn't even snow that much here anyways let a lone in the end of March. Oh well, I'm glad you guys had fun!!!
Did John really dig that big hole to hide a body??? That thing was huge!!
Awesome beach pictures, I can't wait to go to FL in July! Do you live by St. Augustine? Probably not since it's north east. We should meet up during the week we're there if you're not too far away. Love the jacuzzi you lucky girl.
