Yesterday we headed down to the stadium for the draft party with the Clarks. We took the kids to the Kid Zone while John was busy. I swear we stood in line forever to get the kids faces painted. It didn't help that we kept getting cut by kids. Is it just me or are kids getting ruder? We just found out that Kelly Poppinga from BYU signed as a free agent with Miami. Although I don't know him or his wife, it's always nice to have someone from the BYU family out here in Florida.

Most of you know that I'm getting Lasik as part 2 of the bet I had with John. I'm supposed to be wearing my glasses all week to prepare for Lasik and I obviously don't have them on this picture. Okay, so I cheated for a couple of hours and put my contacts back in. For those of you who wear glasses daily, how do you do it? They drive me NUTS!
The top 3 reasons why I hate glasses:
1) I have no nose pieces on my glasses due to an Austin incident so the metal digs into the side of my nose. I tried sticking little pieces of red Now N Laters on them to relieve the pain while I was in the house but they just ended up melting and left me looking like I was bleeding. I can't really leave the house looking like that. John finally used some epoxy to make some new ones for me.
2) My lenses on my glasses pop out at the best times like when I'm driving or checking out at the store. Yeah, that's a lot of fun.
3) I can't wear sunglasses and glasses at the same time and since we go swimming all the time in Florida I either have to choose to squint for a couple of hours or wear my sunglasses and hope Austin doesn't drown.
Needless to say I'm so excited to get Lasik. Especially for situations in the past like Lake Powell (the stars are just a blurry mess for me at night on top of the houseboat) or being up all night with a newborn (no, I'm not pregnant) where it would have been so nice. I guess that's enough whining for now. Sorry.

Yeah, good for you! I'm a little freaked out about anything coming at my eyes, but as soon as I grow a backbone, I hope to be there too! I NEVER wear my glasses, don't know if I could do it if I had to! Good luck with the surgery!

I don't know how people wear glasses either. I'd rather have contacts full of gunk than wear glasses. Good luck with the surgery!

I'm so jealous, I have been wearing contacts/glasses since sixth grade and i'm tired of it!! I just can't get the guts to go and do lasik, you'll have to let me know how it goes. Good luck!
I got Lasik and I love it for all the same reasons as you. I now have better than 20/20 vision. I couldn't STAND to wear glasses and I felt like I looked completely retarded. Hope you like it and it goes well for you. I have loved it, it's worth every penny. Get lots and lots of the hydrating eye drops!

Hang in there girl! All the torture is worth it. It is one of the best things I have ever done for myself.

Glasses totally make me feel closterphobic (can't spell) it's weird I know! I want lasik so bad, I'm so happy for you! You have to tell me how it goes! Love the face paint, that's some serious talent right there!
