Our Hawaiian Luau

I didn't want to have a huge birthday party for Brock since he's only one but we were wanting to have everyone over anyway so we had a luau and then cake later for Brock. We tried to make it as Hawaiian as possible with Polynesian chicken, meatballs, coconut shrimp, tiki torches, grass skirts, coconut bras, and of course, everyone got leid as they came in. The kids swam in the hot tub and the adults went fishing. Thanks Clarks, Becks, and Johnstuns for coming!

John made the drinks for the night and we partied hard Mormon style with some virgin pina coladas. John has a crusty in this picture because right before we took it I told him his hair looked extra curly tonight. He obviously didn't take it as a compliment.

Brock dug right in double fisted just like his mama would. He liked squeezing the cake and throwing it!

Going...going...gone!

Brock must had too many pina coladas since he didn't wake up until 10:30 this morning.

I love the grass skirts and the coconut bras. I could never get my hubby to wear a grass skirt. The food sounds yummy too.

Fun! I'm so proud of Brock for tearing into the cake! Neither of my kiddos have been "cake attackers." What a fun party! Love John's extra curly hair too!

One more...did you make that cake yourself? And if so...did you use a cupcake cake preformed pan, or did you improvise?? Just curious...I saw a cute cake pan with the cupcakes in the surlatable catalog.

What a fun party for Brock. He has the best skin and cutest eyes. I had to get a closer look at his giant cupcake. You are so creative and artistic. Carson used to have blonde hair now it is turning red. I think it will get lighter in the Summer. (He needs a hair cut)

I'll let you beat me to the next go around...I'll keep this baby my baby for a long while now, maybe forever. as for walking...nothin'! he is a scaredy cat to let go and always buckles his knees to crawl. ty was walking at 10 months, but tate is a better crawler, so he probably just likes his freedom the way it is. i am sure he'll decide he wants to take some steps sometime. what funny little guys. your brock is darling!! i wish we were closer so they could be buddies.

Can't you tell that I am totally stalking your blog too? I have been on it like five times in the last hour. And I didn't mean I was sad we didn't get to hear the draft, it was no big deal, I would rather have been at the party! I probably wouldn't have even watched the draft, I usually just check on it after awhile. Who wants to sit and wait forever in between picks? It takes so long! See how long this comment is, I am bored too!

I went and reread my blog and it did sound like I was like, I always watch like every second of the draft, which is totally false so I changed it. I really need to get off the computer! Ryan just asked how many times I was planning on reading my new post.
