Many of you know I always play the "what were you doing a year ago today?" game. I just love looking back at what can happen in a year. It's amazing.
This was the first picture we took of him with our phone.

A year ago today I was in the hospital for an ultrasound because Brock wasn't moving and the doctors were worried. I started having contractions and called John who was playing in a golf tournament to tell him I had started contractions but it was nothing major so keep playing. The ultrasound predicted Brock to be 10 1/2 pounds so the doctors said they needed to take him C-section. John rushed to the hospital and next thing I know I'm in the recovery room after the C-section waiting to see my beautiful 8lbs 14oz baby(so they were a little off) and thinking, "Wow, that was easy. Everyone should have C-sections." For those of you who have had C-sections please refrain from laughing out loud. The next day after the medicine wore off the harsh reality of the pain set in I realized why people avoid C-sections at all costs! But...it was so worth it.
A year ago today I met my baby boy Brock and fell in love with his perfectly round head and gorgeous blue eyes.
This morning we started with the Larson tradition of waking up the birthday boy and singing to them. We all have pieces of fruit with candles in it and we go around the room and give the birthday boy wishes. When we were younger it was always something like, "I wish that you get lots of presents!" The birthday boy gets his own wish too. Since Brock can't talk I'm sure it was something like, "I hope I get to drink real milk, ride forward in my carseat, and eat strawberries."

Happy Birthday Brock! Time does fly doesn't it. He is such a cute little guy.
Happy Birthday! I can remember getting that pic of him when you texted it out. I was so excited for you! He is so darling and so much fun. We just love him!
Aww, he's already one?! Happy birthday! He is so dang cute.
Happy #1 Brock! That did seem to go way fast...but I guess that's usually the case when it's not your kid!! I can remember thinking with Charli that the first birthday would never come! I have to agree with you on the C-sections, and I have had 2, they are the best! Unless, of course, you have to sneeze or cough within the first week.
Time flies way too fast. Happy birthday to Brock. I love all your cute traditons. I can't believe it has been a year, Mason will be 1 on the 24th of May. It really does flash right before your eyes.
Have a great day.
What fun traditions! Don't you just love the accuracy of modern technology?! What an adorable little boy! Happy birthday! BTW, you look GREAT in the hosiptal pics! I always look like the Stay Puff!
happy Birthday Brock mini Chrisy!
I hope you all had a great day..... YOu know its time for number 3!!
Such a cute 1 year old. And of course, you look gorgeous in your post-baby shot. Aren't babies such blessings, no matter how they get here.
PS totally love your cute birthday tradition
You are such a sweet mom and those eyes are amazing! Happy Birthday Brock, I can't wait for you to meet Elle and fall in love :)
he's one of the cutest lil' one year olds around! hope he had a fun birthday....tell him uncle brett & aunt kristy say happy birthday:)
Brock is so cute! I love your traditions. It was a fun to see the hospital pictures and his picture today. You guys are an awesome family.
so cute! how did this year fly by so quickly?? i cannot believe it! i swear tate and brock were just born! what a great year!! oh-and for the record, i am a c-section girl and think a planned one is definitely the only way to go...is brock walking yet??
You are the cutest mom! I can't believe he is 1! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
Happy Birthday to Brock! He does have gorgeous blue eyes, I'm so jealous - neither of my kids have blue eyes. What a fun tradition with the fruit! Hope Brock has a fun first birthday.
Happy Birthday Brock! What a cutie!! At least c-section babies don't have cone heads... I agree with you on the avoiding at all costs. Hope your baby boy has an awesome birthday!
Happy birthday Brock! He is a cutie. I haven't had a c section, but I've heard they are no fun. At least he was lot smaller than you thought. I have a friend who had a baby over 10 lbs. She didn't even have a c-section. Crazy!
Happy Birthday! Doesn't it seem like things go by a lot quicker with the second child than the first?
happy birthday to brock! hope you guys had a fun day.
He is sooo big!! I love your birthday traditions... I may copy!!
I now I'm late but happy b-day to your little Brock. He is darling and I'm so glad he can have real milk now! I agree with you about the c-sections...I cringe thinking I have to do it again. Happy b-day again!
how sad your baby is 1! i get a little sad on their birthdays because it goes way too fast. he is so adorable.
i actually prefer c-sections but i had a LOT of help. i can't explain my reasoning of my preference-too graphic.
