Happy Belated Mother's Day

I hope everyone had a good Mother's Day. I just wanted to thank the mothers in my life.

My mom has been a great example to me of how to be patient, loving, and Christlike. She was a great teacher. I knew all the scripture stories and the first time I ever read it was from the scriptures. I always get overwhelmed trying to teach Austin and my mom told me how important it is to teach him the scriptures because no one else can teach him that like his own mom can. Thank you for that advice.

John's mom Sheri has been not only good to my sons but has raised her own son, John, with values that I am truly grateful for. Sheri spends so much time doing little nice things for her children. There's no question that she would do absolutely anything for her kids.

Me and my boys
I was able to sleep in and came downstairs to flowers and breakfast just as John cued Austin to say, "Happy Mother's Day!" Austin kept smiling and saying, "Mom, you look very pretty." I asked John if he had prompted Austin to say that as well and he said no. My heart just melted.

The Clarks and John Beck came over since his wife was out of town. The boys fixed crab, steak, twice baked potatoes, salad, and strawberry shortcake for me and Heidi. I will admit it was a little hard for me to let go control of the kitchen but once I got used to the idea I relaxed. Why does food taste so much better when I don't have to fix it?!

That is such a good picture of you and the boys. I should have taken one of all of you when I was there! I always think about these things after the fact. Anyway, we had such a great time and the food was delicious!

Oh your post about the c-section made me feel so much better! I've found that it's hard for a lot of people to realate unless they've had one - it sucks! Thanks for sharing yours with me...I actually didn't know you had one - with both Austin and Brock? Happy belated Mother's Day!

Salads especially taste so much better when you don't make them FOR SURE! I'm with you on that. What a BEAUTIFUL picture of you with your boys.
