Another round in the ring...

While we were in Arizona my dad found out that he has prostate cancer. They think that it is in the early stages but there are a lot of unknowns. He goes in for surgery Wednesday. My dad has always been blessed with good health. In fact this is his first surgery ever which is pretty amazing for being 75 years old.

I was almost not surprised when we heard the news. Could it be that I am cynical at the ripe age of 28? I wouldn't call it that. It's just that I have learned that as much as life is good, life is hard.

That's why we are here. To grow. To be tried and to learn. To develop true empathy for those around us.

So another round in the ring. We may get knocked down but we always get up and survive another round. This will be no different. We have hope and prayers. We need your prayers.

We love you dad. Good luck.

If it's true that the Lord only gives us as much as we can handle and the strength of a person is measured by the obsticles that they overcome, you should be beamed directly up to Heaven here shortly - THE LORD MUST THINK VERY HIGHLY OF YOU.

I love you and look up to you.
