John had the Dolphin's golf tournament early Friday down in South Beach so John's mom and I headed down to South Beach in the afternoon and checked into our hotel and waited for John to meet us. Little did we know that the heavens would open and unleash an unbelievably nasty storm that flooded the streets. Hurricane force winds and golf ball sized hail pounded us. Our hotel room even flooded and we had to move. Here's a picture John took from his truck. Notice the water is up to the door handles of the car. It took him 6 hours to get from the golf tournament to our hotel which was only a couple of miles. People were just abandoning their cars.
Sheri and I killed time talking and letting the kids watch movies.
The next day was the fishing tournament. John's mom was sweet enough to fly in last second so that she could take care of the kids so I could go with John. It was quite the experience. We had about 4 hours of sleep and woke up bright and early to head off on our boat the Owl's Nest. I didn't even think about getting seasick but the next thing I knew I was asking the crew, "Where would be a good place to throw up?" Luckily the sickness passed because we were on the boat for 9 hours. Check out my snazzy wristbands that were supposed to prevent seasickness.
John reeling in a big one!
John wanted me to climb way up here. HECK TO THE NO!
John caught the 2nd biggest Black Fin Tuna in the tournament weighing in at 38 pounds.
After our boat weighed in our fish, we went swimming with the kids and headed off on the party bus to the Captain's Party. Here's Austin and Sheri on the PARTY BUS!

All I can say is WOW! Crazy! And...we love John's curly hair and the big fish. And...I'm impressed you endured that boat ride prego. I would've been sickly the whole time for sure! You're a trooper!

Talk about some rain! That's so nice that Sheri can go out there and watch the kids. What a fun fishing trip - way to go on the catch, John.
Fun! I totally worked that event for Outback back in the day when they provided dinner the night before the fishing. You are amazing going on that boat! I get so sea sick when I am not pregnant I hate to think about it!
