Let me preface this by saying this was totally and completely my idea. John and I had a bet that when I lost 20 lbs he had to shave his face. John has been sporting his hairy look since 2005. Maybe he was rebelling from the years that BYU dictated the absence of his facial hair. I actually didn't mind the scruffy look but it had been so long since I'd seen his cute dimples. I lost the first 15 lbs in the first 2 months and then just stopped losing weight. I had plenty of excuses why the last 5 lbs wouldn't budge: Halloween, Thanksgiving, the pounds of Sees chocolate devoured at Nauvoo, and nursing (Larson girls are notorious for holding onto the weight until they finish nursing). I think John was secretly sabotaging me. Anytime I was close to my goal he would suggest a run to Dairy Queen as he slowly stroked his hairy chin with a mischievous smile. Finally, five months later, I weighed in Christmas Eve morning and I had reached my goal. I can't stop looking at him. He looks so handsome! I think he took off 5 lbs in hair and 5 years in age. Austin keeps doing double takes. Happy New Year to everyone! The song "Wind of Change" has been reverberating in my mind all day. 2008 is going to be a good year, I can feel it.

Christy, I have vistited your blog and just read your post about not being afraid to comment, and I admit I have been the same way. Your family is beautiful and you look great, the same as in school. I am glad you are doing well, and maybe I'll see you at the reunion?
LOL! Christy you crack me up!!!! I didn't know you guys had a bet! The pictures are HILLARIOUS - Congratulations!
Christy,
John looks so much better without all that facial hair. You should be thankful he haves lots of hair to spare! Usually guys that are bald do all the facial hair to make up for their baldness. My new year's song is "Back to life, back to reality..." some 90's song.
Good work out song by the way.

We got the bed at Costco a few weeks ago. It was a good deal so we went with it! I guess I just missed you in Provo because I think Rob and I got married and then you came up there, not sure but it's good to catch up!
I LOVE IT! That is hilarious! I was thinking how great you look in ALL of your pictures! And last time I saw you you were SO TINY! What is the secret!?! Maybe I will have to think of a bet to do! Hope you had a great new years! I heard Brett got engaged!
hey, he looks a lot like the John we know! We too had a Christmas of bikes and cameras! It was a blast! And Amanda and Bob had their 1st Christmas without family and survived. And I was wondering how you know your kids watched polar express too many times??? And the 12 miles on that track was a killer. It made me even more grateful for our lovely Phoenix weather! By the way, are you guys coming here some time?
And about the Wii, Matt's mom got 3 of them. I wonder if they are easier to get in Utah? Although she did go 3 early mornings...
It's a blast though, for the kids and for us!
Very nice! My son Mitch was at the computer when I looked at your blog and he said" He looks like Josh Groban does he sing and play football" .LOL HA HA !!! Hope you guys have a GREAT New Year. Oh, is there a pan for the cupcake thing?
Now we need to get my husband to shave his. He wouldn't even do it for family pictures!
"There you are Peter!"
Wow! That's the John we knew! He looks so different without the scruff. Congrats on your weight goal too! That's awesome! You look great in your photos BTW.
He is a new man and good for you to lose the last 5! Man it is so hard after babies, I am still up 15 though after two freaking years! So I think he owed it to you, you deserve to have your handsome, now you both can be super hot together!

Okay, I guess I will add my comment to your huge long list of them! I love the pictures of John, they look so funny. I have never seen him clean shaven before! Hope all goes well tonight!(not really, hee hee. JK.)
Hey, we ran into Tyler and Amber yesterday, they told us that John resigned for awhile. Congrats!
It was great to talk to you on the phone a couple times this past week.
You look beautiful as always & John has a total baby face.
I think I need to make a bet like that to get me motivated.
WAY TO GO!!

If there ever was a Goliath look-a-like contest...You'd win!

I can still take you any time in Mexican Dominoes! Shelly #1 sister-in-law (okay... I am the oldest)
I LOVE Johns hair!
It is so freakin curly, Way to go on getting down to your goal weight. Can you PLEASE give me some tips??
You guys are so cute. Congratulations on losing the baby weight. I am still fast and furiously gaining weight with this baby. Hopefully in a year, I have something excited to post about... like getting down to pre-pregnancy weight. Good job.
Way to go Christy! I'm trying to loose the baby weight right now and it's alot harder this time. You look really good in all of your pictures. I can't believe all of John's hair. The first time my dad visited our BYU ward and saw John he was totally jealous of his hair.(he's bald)
