Peanut Butter and Julie

I consider myself a pretty laid back person. However when it comes to the kitchen I turn into a totally different anal freak. I get overly consumed with the thought of germs, finger licking, and not properly washed hands. Sandra used to always ask everyone if they had washed their hands. I must have subconsciously taken over her role because I turned into the hand washing Nazi!

While we were in Arizona my sister Julie came over to make peanut butter cookies for her boyfriend. Julie is on the opposite end of the spectrum from me: She is a free spirit who lets the kids sit on the counter, crack the eggs, measure, and oh, lots of licking, lots of laughing. She doesn't measure anything exactly...she just eyeballs it. She makes it fun! I'm saying I'm at the point where I actually ate any of the cookies but I learned a lot from her. It's not always the end product but the process that makes memories. Thanks for showing me how to let my hair down and relax in the kitchen!

Here she is about to sprinkle Austin with sugar.

He didn't really find it amusing.

Julie looks like shes making out with Austin but she's trying to get the sugar off his face.

He might hold a grudge forever...
If you are craving another peanut butter delight, check out these on my recipe blog.

you make me laugh....used to be the same way about cleaning but I've been trying to implement the advice to enjoy the doing and not so much the getting it done. I guess I must be getting better because things are for sure more messy around here...or maybe it's just that the kids are getting more wild and I'm too tired to do anything about it?

austin's face is priceless!

That's so funny! You sound like me! Maybe sometimes I am a little too anal. They look yummy though. I love ANYTHING with peanut butter too.

All the germs die in the oven anyway...Right? Your sister looks like she is a lot of fun.

Austin is just the cutest thing, his face in that last pic really is hilarious. It's just so him when he is unhappy! Maybe I should actually try cooking so that I could decide if I am like that or not. Probably not but it is hard to know since I never cook!!

MMMMM..Yummy! I'm the same way in my kitchen. WASH WASH WASH!!! Rob lets them stir, put ingredients in, etc...the WHOLE thing creeps me out. I have to run my dishwasher at least 2 a day for me to feel like it germ free. I think there are meds for that. Ha! Those cookies look SO delicious. I'm going to try them. Thanks for sharing

Sisters are so great! Sometimes it is nice to be reminded that the memories are the most important thing.

I don't mind the germs as much as the mess. At least they had fun!

Don't you love those enlightening moments, when you learn something valuable from people you love? The best part is you will always remember that moment with her.
