Lake Powell

Lake Powell was a memorable one this year. The McMullin's are always great hosts and fun to be around and we made a lot of memories. We had a stomach bug pass through the whole house boat with about 10 of 23 of us throwing up in aptly named "Heave-Ho Cove".  Austin and Brock were up all night throwing up which at Lake Powell is a nightmare to clean up. Since watching Wes is a full time job John ended up washing all the bedding, Pochantas style, in the lake while I watched Wes. I offered to switch him but maybe he figured he was picking the easier of the two jobs.

The next night Austin ended up having to get stitches from an oar that hit his head. John and Cade sped off in the boat about 30 minutes into the marina to get stitched up. Austin came back proudly holding his popsicle wrapper and showing off his 11 stitches.
A huge rock, the size of a football field, fell off into the water causing a tsunami while John was out on the ski boat with our boys in tow. He said there was dust like an explosion as he rounded a canyon and 6-8 foot swells like in the ocean. Luckily he was able to pull the boys through it and everyone was safe.
The boys doing some cliff jumping.

We had this huge deep hole in the back of our canyon. Of course, Danny, who seems to always be up for anything, was the one to be lowered down to check it out.

John and I were in charge of Italian night and we decided a Jersey Shore theme fit the bill. In order to participate in the festivities you had to either have a "poof" or "guido" hair. We started things off with a little fist pumping finished with some minute-to-win-it penne-spaghetti stringing while mafia shooting.

Pirate Day - ARGHH!

Complete with a treasure hunt throughout Skipper's Rock and Heave-Ho Cove.

Holy Babies!

Faster Daddy!

The kids drew all of the bad things like throwing up and stiches on the totem pole and then we burnt it.

Owen and Brocky

The last night we joined the boys on a stealth mission over to the Brothers boat equipped with some water balloons. John and Brett went on foot around the back while we distracted them in the front. Mission completed...although the boys were very annoyed at our Diet Coke drinking and giggling.

This about sums up our cleanliness for the week.

One last family pic...
